Firstly we wish all our customers and friends a Very Happy New Year
A new 7-plank mineral wagon is now available - EVANS & BEVAN
Evans and Bevan were the second largest producers of anthracite in the country, and their large fleet of wagons could be seen up and down the country at rural stations, cities and industrial complexes like breweries.
Our model is based on 200 built to the 1923 RCH specifications and delivered in 1926/1927, item no. LHT731620 with two different numbered wagons at a cost of £96.00/pair to a limited edition of 50
Also we have ONE left of WELSH ANTHRACITE item no. LHT731530 at a cost of £96.00/pair

Autotrain & low stock of Welsh Anthracite wagons
December 1st.
Regarding the autotrain set, I am still waiting for some packaging materials, so have decided to release this in January 2012.
- The DCC fitted with sound set will contain two decoders one in the locomotive and one in the coach, however to make like easy we have removed five functions from the locomotive and added to the coach, so the complete train will have one address only. The sounds we have removed are the following:-
- playable whistle,
- vacuum brake (this is an automatic feature below speed step 8),
- vacuum release,
- buffer crash
- manual drain cock (this is also an automatic function if the locomotive has been standing for more than 30 seconds).
Also this set will include six fully finished figures as follows:-
- The driver in the coach
- fireman in loco
- and four seated passengers, all ready and waiting for their journey.
I am now down to the last dozen of the very popular Welsh Antracite 7-plank mineral wagons, so now is the last chance to buy.
I will have this stock at Reading to sell this coming weekend. Please note that this, current and all future PO/colliery decorated wagons are limited to 50 sets only.

last two wagons
8th. December 2011
We only have two wagons left of the following items, so I have removed them from the website, please phone if you would like to purchase, first come first served.
1. LHT730050 16 ton mineral wagons
2. LHT731530 12ton RCH Welsh Anthracite wagons
Next year I shall re-run the British Railways 16 ton mineral wagons to diagram108 with new numbers, as well as a series of MCV's for the later diesel period modellers. I have added a photo courtesy of Paul Bartlett
November 2011

NEW PRIVATE OWNER WAGON
8th. November 2011
We now have a new 7-plank mineral wagon available - WELSH ANTHRACITE which is based on 200 that were constructed to the 1923 RCH specifications and delivered in 1927.
The company was later absorbed into Amalgamated Anthracite Collieries Ltd around 1938.
A short note from the excellent book ‘Private Owner Wagons A Fourth Collection Anthracite’ by Keith Turton and published by the Lightmoor Press.
Anthracite is often referred to as the ‘King of Coals’, burning with high heat and little smoke, being virtually free from arsenic and therefore critical for any food trade. The giant brewing company BASS of Burton-on-Trent asserted that the Welsh anthracite was by far the best coal that they had purchased.
Often difficult to mine the typical anthracite pit was a drift or slant with no traditional headgear just a tunnel served by a narrow gauge tramway with no traditional buildings and less productive employing only a small workforce.
Item number LHT731530 is a limited edition set of 50, and £5.00 from each set has been donated to the Swansea Valley Miners’ Appeal Fund.

New locomotive
September 1st
Just a quick update before Telford.
Our next production will be Mr. Churchward's 45xx prairie locomotives, covering all periods from 1910 to 1960.
Further information will be available at Telford
Also we shall be showing a train set comprising a 64xx locomotive and an autocoach in a special presentation package, including decoration which will be offered DCC ready and DCC fitted with sound.
We plan to have a fully working set complete with bells and gong at Telford, which should be available before the end of this year.
Lastly we have just received new samples of our next RCH mineral wagons, decorated in Anthracite liveries, so plenty to see at Telford, where we look forward to meeting old and new customers and friends.

RCH 7-Plank mineral wagons
18th. July
It has been a busy time these last few weeks, with moving home which now houses the office, however being north of the M4 will cut down journey times to exhibitions quite considerably. Please note our new address, although the telephone number stays the same.
All versions of the new RCH 7-plank wagons are now available, the website will be updated this week so allowing online purchasing.
Note that the private owner wagons, LHT731230, LHT731330 and LHT731450 are limited production of 50 only of each item number, so why not order now to avoid disappointment.
New private owner and colliery decorated wagons will be added in due course.

1923 RCH 7-Plank wagons
April 3rd.
On my last visit to the East I collected samples of the new RCH 7-plank mineral wagons, and have added a couple of pictures to show the fine details.
All tooling is now approved for production, although there are still some minor additions to the decorations required
- All interiors will be painted a wood colour, so spray masks are needed.
- Printed builders plates to be added to the solebars
I will add more pictures and product ordering information with costs over the coming weeks.

Weathered autocoach
March 1st.
This month we have a picture of our new autocoach decorated in 1950's British Railways Carmine and Cream that has been expertly weathered by Mike Baker including passengers.
Come and see us at the Gauge 0 Guild Spring show at Kettering this coming Saturday where we shall have plenty of coaches and mineral wagons for sale, as well as locomotives although the DCC sound versions are in short supply, the GREAT WESTERN lettered 6410 is unfortunately sold out, and only one 6421 with early BR Lion/wheel crest is left.
The office will be closed from March the 10th. until the end of the month as we shall be travelling to the East to inspect the decorated RCH 7-plank mineral wagons, which we hope to have on show at the forthcoming
London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace on 26/27 March on our stand number 69

1923 RCH 7-Plank wagons
01 February 2001
On my latest visit to the Orient I collected the first samples of the NEW 1923 RCH mineral wagons, a picture is included of the Private Owners wagon with wooden supports on the fixed end. Note the buffer housing is incorrect and should be attached to the oposite end which has the opening door. The side door on one side is a seperate part, and can be placed either closed or open (as picture) to simulate being unloaded in the yard. Both open spoke and 8-spoke diecast wheels with steel tyres will be fitted depending on the prototype photos, even 3-hole disc for some versions. The compensating beam as fitted to our recently released minerals will be included. Also in the picture of the chassis note the angled brake push rods (matching the coning on the wheel tyres) of the either side brake rigging.
Three different 7-plank bodies will be offered initially as follows:-
1. Side and end door with metal 'tee' stanchions on the fixed end
2. Side and end door with wooden supports on the fixed end
3. Side doors only with wooden Supports on the fixed ends
These ready to run wagons will be decorated in both early and late LMS and LNER liveries as well as BR.
There will also be two versions in Private owner livery and one with BR
Also undecorated but fully assembled models will be available for customers to finish off.
I hope to have some decorated samples for the ALSRM Reading show in early May

Autocoach shipping
02 December 2010
I have had a quantity of autocoaches air freighted which will be delivered tomorrow just in time for the Reading trade show this coming Saturday. All decoration versions will be available for sale.
The balance of the coach production is on the water but will not be received here till after Christmas, however all customers who have pre-ordered will only pay the current rate of VAT, although products will be sent out in 2011.
The office will be closed after the Reading show as we are moving to new premises and then travelling to the East, and reopen on the 2nd. of January 2011. Customers who order online during this period will still be invoiced at the current rate of VAT.
The Diagram 'N' autocoach which our model is based on was constructed during 1907. All were built new as driving trailers and not later conversions from old steam rail motors.
The following decorations are available:-
LHT750030 Great Western 1930's with letters G W R above the twin city crest
LHT750040 Great Western 1940's with words Great and Western either side of twin city crest
LHT750050 British Railways 1940/1950 Crimson and cream
LHT750051 British Railways 1950's Maroon
Their short length of 59ft 6 in long coupled to one of our 64xx pannier tank locomotives has a total length of only 26 in, perfect for limited space layouts.
They were used on branch lines from Cornwall to Wales and retained their gas lighting until withdrawn, the first in 1956 the last in November 1957.
Number 38 is preserved on the Telford Steam Railway

Weathered mineral wagons
17th. October
We are pleased to announce that TMC has weathered some mineral wagons for us. These models have been individually prepared so no two are alike making a train appear very authentic, see picture of two MCO vehicles.
We shall be exhibiting at the forthcoming Central Southern '0' gauge exhibition in Wimborne-(see forthcoming exhibitions) where I will have several weathered models on display for sale, together with production samples of the new Great Western autocoach.
September 2010
Pete Waterman Spends a 'Dirty Weekend in Swindon' with our wagons...
Monday, September 13th, 2010
Roger, Ruth and I had a dirty weekend in Swindon. When Richard from Lionheart showed up with his BR minerals that I'd ordered we thought they could do with a bit of a make over so we spent the weekend doing just that. The wagons are superb and at the price a great deal. For full article please see Pete's blog via: http://pete.railnuts.com/2010/09/13/dirty-weekend-in-swindon
New website launched
We are very pleased to announce that you can now purchase our products online. If you wish to make a purchase please visit the models section and add the items / model numbers that you wish to order and add them to your basket. From here we advise on P&P cost, then take your billing and shipment details before we pass the transaction on to the Paypal website which will then take your card details before passing you back to our website.
August 2010
The mineral wagons are on the water and providing everything goes smoothly with customs I should have them available for Telford, however please note that the weathering for some items will be done here which will take a further couple of weeks.
There have been some decoration issues with the autocoach, and unfortunately we shall not be able to offer the 1922 fully panelled livery, however all other decoration schemes will be available to view at Telford. Production has been planned for the middle of October, so availability should be the latter part of November.
On a more serious note, because of long lead times and MOQ issues with electrical components the DCC fitted autocoaches will not be manufactured this year, and no date has been set.
We look forward to seeing old friends and new at Telford for the Guildex 2010 exhibition on 4th/5th September.
July 2010
We are pleaed to announce full details of our BR 16 ton mineral wagon range, which you can find on our Models page.
The wagons will be available for delivery from the middle of August, and are available to pre-order from today. We're also hoping to have a number of weathered versions available at the Telford show. We're initially offering a box set of two differently numbered wagons, for an introductory price of just £79.90.
If you would like any further information, please contact us.
June 2010
We are pleased to show the first decorated samples of the forthcoming autocoach in 1946 Great Western livery. There are some corrections to be made, the most noticeable being the gutters require painting brown, and the wheels need to be blackened. We will show the British Railways versions shortly.
We are still hoping to have some available for Telford, and we plan to have the DCC fitted coaches available for Warley in late November.
May 2010
We are now back from Hong Kong after visiting our vendors and have the following update.
1. The British Railways standard 16 ton mineral wagons have been approved for production which will commence shortly with expected delivery here early to mid July of the first series with 1950’s decorations:
(A) LHT730050 Diagram 1/108 welded body with Morton brake (B) LHT730150 Diagram 1/114 welded body with Morton vacuum brakes and instanter link couplings (C) LHT730350 Diagram 1/109 riveted body with Morton brakes

Two identical wagons with different numbers will be packed together at an introductory price of £79.90 (incl. VAT). The wagons will be fitted with Finescale wheel sets, however both Course scale and Scale Seven wheel sets will be available.
We shall also be offering weathered wagons similar to the picture of B258683 (rebodied diagram 1/108) at a cost of £108.10 (incl. VAT) per pair
2. The Great Western autocoach is still at the decoration stage and after lengthy discussions we shall regrettably not be able to offer the 1922 fully panelled and lined livery, however I do hope to have fully decorated samples of the 1930/40/50's during May and will publish pictures on the website once to hand. I do not have a delivery schedule yet but I am hoping to have some available for Telford in September
We shall be attending the ALSRM show at Reading on Saturday May the 8th.
April 2010
IMPORTANT NOTE TO OUR CUSTOMERS:
We are travelling in Hongkong & China at the moment, finalising the work on the Autocoach and the Mineral Wagons, so please note that our office will be closed until the 23rd April. We will still be answering email enquiries, so you can get in touch if necessary by visiting our Contact page
March 2010
We are pleased to have photos for you of our new Mineral Wagons, as promised earlier in the month. The wagons are decorated in 1950's livery, and the first two photos show the 'Diagram 108 welded body' wagon, and the second two are of the 'Diagram 109 rivetted body' wagon.
We'll have more information about these exciting additions to our range very soon, so remember to return here next week, or else get in touch using our "Contact page".
We will be attending the London Festival of Railway Modelling, 27th & 28th March at Alexandra Palace.
We are hoping to have the final samples of the mineral wagons next week, when we'll publish some photographs. We'll be adding further detailed descriptions of these, and details of their prices and availability, over the coming weeks.
We look forward to meeting you on stand number 56 at Alexandra Palace in a couple of weeks!
January 2010
Update: We will be attending the 'Bristol 'O' Gauge Group Exhibition' (www.bogg7mmshow.com) this Sunday - 31st January - at the UWE Conference and Exhibition Centre, Bristol. Information on the location etc is available on the show website. Why not come along to see (and hear) our models for yourself!
We now have a page on our website where you can read some of the reviews that our models have had in the railway modelling press. Go to the "Press page" for more information.
As a further development of our website we are currently working on an online shopping facility, so you will soon be able to buy our models directly from the website. We're hoping to have this facility available by early February.
December 2009
We've received the first engineering sample of the Autocoach. We'll have photos here on our website very soon.
We'll be attending the Guildford 'O' Gauge Group's annual Reading '0' Gauge Trade Show on Saturday 5th December. You can find us on Chris Hillier's Hurn Models stand. We'll have the Autocoach there for you to see 'in the flesh', as well as the Mineral Wagons.
We were hoping to have photo's of the Autocoach ready for the website by today, but we've been very busy with the relocation (see the note below regarding our contact details). Things should get back to normal next week, we hope!
Please note that we've changed our contact details slightly. Our new telephone number is 01963 364363, so please amend your phone list if necessary. Our old 01258 471766 number is no longer in use, effective from the end of November.
Update: We finally have the Autocoach photos for you!
October 2009
Here is a sneak-peek of our next project, the British Railways 16 ton mineral wagon.
Both the riveted diagram 1/109 and the welded body 1/108, including the batch of 100 Vacuum fitted 1/108's will be produced; ideal freight stock for our B.R. decorated 74xx locomotives.
During the 1970's rusted out bodies with good chassis were rebuilt with new bodies without the top flap to diagram 1/099, and this version will also be produced, being suitable candidates for the diesel brigade. Later plans will include the vacuum fitted 108 and 109's with 8-shoe clasp brakes.

These fully finished ready to run wagons have sprung metal buffers and couplings as standard and a three-point suspension system is built in. We are considering offering a limited product build to scale seven standards, and would be very interested in feedback, so let us know your thoughts.
On the locomotive front a further shipment has arrived, so later this week I shall be able to complete the outstanding orders.
The DCC fitted production is in full swing, with production samples available for me to inspect this week.
September 2009

We shall be demonstrating a DCC fitted locomotive at Telford.
The 'Soundguy' Keith set up the recording session on the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway with the kind permission of Richard Jones, the General Manager back in October last year, unfortunately on the day allocated he was not well so he showed me how to use the recording equipment.
With the help of engine driver Courtney (pictured on the left), and our stead 6435, a most enjoyable time was had from Bodmin General to Bodmin Parkway and then on the return journey 6435 hauling 5 coaches had to work very hard out of Parkway on the ruling gradient of 1 in 40 for 2 miles.
With the recording complete it was back to see Keith for him to make sense of what I had done. I must say this guy really knows 'his onions', but I will let you decide when you visit our stand No. 25 at Guildex and judge for yourself.
Andy at 'DCC Supplies' has been instrumental in organising the best decoder for the job and his help and advise on DCC matters is second to none.
The DCC fitted locomotives have been delayed through issues with the soundcam. After much consultation and testing with both Andy and Keith we have decided to eliminate the soundcam by fine-tuning the decoder to produce the four chuffs per revolution.
Production is underway, with anticipated arrival in UK during October, after which we shall fit the decoder and speaker, and then thoroughly test the locomotives before sending them out.
Get prepared for putting some water in the boiler and stoking up the fire !!
August 2009
Here are a couple of 3-D renders of our next production model.
G.W.R. Autocoach to Diagram 'N'
Built in 1907, they lasted for more than 50 years in revenue service, being ideal companions to go with our 64xx Pannier tank locomotives. The all panelled wooden body with window bolection mouldings and gas lamps are faithfully reproduced and the 8'-0" American bogies are fully compensated with equalising beams. Being of the shorter 59'- 6" length a complete train, coach and loco, only takes up 26" making them just right for small layouts. They will be decorated in three or four paint schemes to match the periods of our 64xx locomotives, with a possible limited edition of fully lined livery.
Tooling is well underway and should be completed by the end of next month, with test shots and engineering pilots available during October, and availability late spring 2010.
A small quantity of the DC only (DCC ready) panniers are being shipped and should arrive here next week, so all customers that have made reservations should have them before Telford, although we shall have some available at the show.
I look forward to meeting prospective customers and discussing our range, it's only two weeks away.
June 2009

I have just returned from the Orient after several meetings in China with our vendors.
The first task was to inspect all six decoration samples to approve paint and insignia detail and placement. Paint colours are approved although the shine level was too high a gloss on certain parts like the tanks and boiler fittings, these areas will be corrected in production, and a standard of finish has been set.
There were a couple of small errors on two of the insignia, however new samples were quickly prepared which I approved before I left. Production was underway. I saw several die-casting tools in operation and many plastic injection mouldings of various components, some on their way to the paint shop.
Assembly standards have been set up with completion of the six DC versions by the end of next month, so I am having a small quantity air-freighted to ensure some will be available for Telford.
Just before I left England I checked out the sound sampling, however we found an issue with the sound cam that has to be redesigned to include two contacts instead of one used by most manufacturers of sound decoders. This issue has affected the PCB that also has to be redesigned and subsequent delay for all DCC fitted products, although I should have a fully operational sound locomotive to demonstrate at Telford, where all decoration variants will be on view.
May 2009

The final samples are due this week, after which pictures will be added to this section showing the different decorations.
All engineering is now complete and approved, the first stage of production, injection moulding, casting and PCB manufacture has started while the motors are currently being built, balanced and tested. The standard DC versions will be completed first while the DCC products will follow on a month later, with the upgraded PCB, three smaller PCB’s for the various light functions, sound cam, speaker and additional wiring. The sound/motor decoders will be installed here and these locomotives will be 100% checked for performance.
I was planning on having a stand at the summer ‘0’ Gauge show at Halifax, but unfortunately I need to be in the Orient inspecting and approving assembly and final production which should be complete by the middle of June.
Providing everything is correct and quality standards are met, products will be shipped and received here in UK during July.
Our first stand will now be at the Guildex Exhibition, Telford on September 5/6, where you will be able to view the complete range.
